Packers News: Ty Montgomery Already Impressing HC Mike McCarthy

The Green Bay Packers have a sterling track record when it comes to drafting wide receivers recently, and it early indications point to third-round selection Ty Montgomery keeping with that trend.

"Very impressed," coach Mike McCarthy said of Montgomery's work so far with the Packers, via NFL.com. "Obviously has a ton of explosion in his body. I thought he definitely stood out."

Packers scout Sam Seale added the ultimate compliment to the former Stanford wideout, saying that Montgomery reminds him of a "bigger Randall Cobb."

With the WR depth chart already sporting Jordy Nelson, Cobb and potential breakout second-year wideout Davante Adams, the Packers will likely work Montgomery on special teams first while slowly working him into more and more packages on offense.
