Five Things We Learned From Detroit's 19-7 victory over Green Bay

The Detroit Lions put together an impressive effort to hold the Green Bay offense to a single score in a 19-7 victory.

Here are four points we learned from the game:

4. The Packers defense is better, but folded late

Much was made of the Packers changes on the defensive side of the ball, but up until today there was not much evidence. The edge rushers and secondary came to play today, but run defense proved to be their demise. Still, two picks, two sacks and forced fumble is an effort to build on.

3. Welcome to 2014 Reggie Bush

After two mediocre performances to start the season, Bush was a huge part of the game plan. Bush put together a 99-yard effort and his first rushing touchdown of the season.

2. Packers running backs struggled with North-South running

Green Bay tried a variety of options in the backfield to establish the run, but none of them seemed to work. Credit the Lions with setting a good edge and maintaining their gaps in run defense to hold Eddie Lacy, James Starks and DuJuan Harris to a combined 76 yards on 22 carries (3.5 YPC).

1. Detroit was well-prepared for Jordy Nelson

Nelson came into today as Green Bay's leading receiver, and Detroit came in with a plan to stop him. Despite having a secondary decimated by injury, Detroit held Aaron Rodger's favorite target to five catches for 59 yards. The pressure up front from the front seven also prevented the Packers from establishing anything down the field.
