The undefeated Zags were very smart in the beginning of the first half defensively and then the momentum changed at 20:21 with India Jencks’ header in the box off of a cross from Savanah VanCitters. This goal from Jencks and was just what GU needed to get going with this historic game.
“The first one is always the toughest one, and what an incredible goal,” head coach Chris Watkins said.
After the first goal the Zags continues to take control of the field throughout the whole game. Jencks' goal was then followed by a shot past the keeper to the far post at 29:49 by Sophia Viviano.
