After claiming the West Coast Conference regular season title, the Gonzaga women’s basketball team will begin its quest to earn the WCC Tournament crown against Pepperdine on Friday in Las Vegas.
The Zags (24-5, 17-1 WCC) are the tournament's No. 1 seed and were awarded a first-round bye to push them into the quarterfinals. Pepperdine (14-16, 7-11 WCC), on the other hand, had to fight its way to this point. The eighth-seeded Waves took down the ninth-seeded Broncos of Santa Clara 72-63 on Thursday afternoon. Junior forward Yasmine Robinson-Bacote scored a game-high 23 points while Paige Feske and Kim Jacobs combined for nine 3-pointers en route to the victory.
