Weeklys preach 'never be satisfied,' as SEC play starts

KNOXVILLE — Different sport, same concept.

When preparing for fourth-ranked Tennessee softball’s Southeastern Conference-opening three-game series with Missouri today (5 p.m.; Online: SEC Network+), Ralph Weekly jotted down the Tigers’ position groups and compared them to his Lady Vols, like a football coach would.

The UT co-head coach found a lot of similarities between his group and the Tigers.

“I did kind of that football thing where you list the tight ends, the guards and then you list who is the favorite,” Weekly said. “We had four positions we were stronger than them by stats, and they had four, and the other one was a matchup, so I think it’s going to be a really good series.
