INDIANAPOLIS — In a polarizing QB class where every top prospect seemingly has a different question to answer, USC redshirt sophomore and potential No. 1 overall pick Sam Darnold prefers to let his tape do a lot of the talking.
Darnold is standing by his decision not to throw at the combine — not unusual nor harmful in the past for other eventual top draft picks, including Andrew Luck and Matthew Stafford.
"Because I felt like it was just the best decision for me," Darnold said Friday. "Obviously I’m going to throw at my pro day, and I think that’s a good opportunity for teams to get a look at how I can spin it.
