GREEN BAY — Trevor Davis’ ill-conceived joke about a bomb at the Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday got him arrested, but it probably won’t cost him his job with the Green Bay Packers — unless new general manager Brian Gutekunst decides otherwise.
That said, the embarrassing affair certainly wasn’t the way the third-year wide receiver wanted to head into the team’s official offseason program, which kicks off next Monday. And given the opportunities at wide receiver, where the Packers cut beloved veteran Jordy Nelson last month and have not added anyone in free agency, Davis surely didn’t help his quest for more playing time or an expanded role in the offense.
