NATCHITOCHES – A six-batter stretch Tuesday night decided the Northwestern State baseball team’s fate against rival Louisiana Tech.
Three batters after the Demons failed to convert on a bases-loaded, no-out seventh-inning opportunity, Chris Clayton struck a tie-breaking, three-run eight-inning home run that lifted the Bulldogs to a 6-3 victory at Brown-Stroud Field.
“It was a good game,” second-year head coach Bobby Barbier said. “I thought it was two good baseball teams out here tonight. When two good teams play each other, the margin of error for victory is very small. We had our shot. We didn’t come through.
