Tennessee coaches get hands-on during second spring practice

KNOXVILLE — Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt stood back, arms folded as he watched the defensive backs go through drills.

The first-year Vols coach didn't have to jump in and offer up any instruction. Safeties coach Charles Kelly was already there when one of his guys had the wrong footwork on a backpedal. Kelly jumped in, showed him how it was done and had him go through the drill again until it was right.

That level of detail was found across the Haslam Practice Facility during the Vols second practice of the spring on Thursday.

It's no surprise that Tennessee's defensive coaches are taking a hands-on approach early during spring camp.
