Jack Cichy’s long road to recovery led to a sixth-round selection in the NFL Draft.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected the former University of Wisconsin inside linebacker with the 202nd overall pick Saturday despite Cichy missing the last season and a half with injuries.
"I’m prepared for whatever’s going to happen,” Cichy said in March of his draft position. "I’m prepared to earn my way onto a 53-man roster any way I can, whatever it takes."
Cichy missed the second half of the 2016 season with a torn pectoral muscle and then tore his anterior cruciate ligament last August.
