Saints sign Bears wide receiver Cameron Meredith to offer sheet, Chicago has option to match

The New Orleans Saints signed wide receiver Cameron Meredith, a restricted free agent, to an offer sheet for a two-year contract that could be worth up to $10 million, a source confirmed to The Advocate on Friday.

As a restricted free agent, Meredith's rights are controlled by the Chicago Bears, who have the right to match any offer and have roughly $24 million in cap space, according to NFLPA records. New Orleans is sitting at roughly $8 million in space.

Meredith, 25, posted a breakout season in 2016 when he recorded 66 catches for 888 yards and four touchdowns, but he tore his ACL last season and missed all of 2017.
