Saints agree to terms with veteran safety Kurt Coleman

The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms on a 3-year deal with veteran safety Kurt Coleman, a source told The Advocate early Saturday morning.

Coleman, who was released by the Panthers on Monday, adds a veteran presence to a group of safeties that includes recent second-round picks Marcus Williams and Vonn Bell.

According to the NFL Network, Coleman’s deal is worth $18 million, including 6.5 in the first year.

An Ohio State product, Coleman blossomed with the Panthers, making 11 interceptions in 2015 and 2016, although the didn’t have any in an injury-plagued season in 2017.
