Greedy Williams was asked if he has seen the forecast of gloom that ESPN’s Football Power Index spit out for LSU football earlier this spring, picking the Fighting Tigers to be the Tepid Tigers with a 6-6 record for 2018.
“I saw it,” the star cornerback said earlier this week. “People will talk. They don’t know the work we’ve put in.”
Williams’ wouldn’t be worth his weight in the preseason accolades sure to come his way if he did not feel like that. When you play football for a program like LSU, 6-6 doesn’t compute. Cold calculations can’t measure the beating hearts, the desire, the effort.
