KNOXVILLE — It was a familiar sight at Tennessee practice this spring.
Walking through the indoor football field and out a side door just to the right of the Vols’ weight room, there was a host of Tennessee football players in full uniform.
They did not take any snaps, though.
Instead, they were suited up, riding a stationary bike, working on flexibility or methodically pounding an oversized tire with a sledge hammer.
Slowly, and much to the pleasure of Jeremy Pruitt, the ranks of what he referred to as “the pit” following Saturday’s Orange and White Game are dwindling.
