The Zags finally open up their season tomorrow on Thanksgiving in Florida against the Kansas Jayhawks. Unfortunately, GU fans received rather sad news that the Gonzaga-Tennessee matchup will be cancelled but I got a special treat to cheer everyone up (not as sweet as Andrew Nembhard being granted a waiver but I think you’ll enjoy it). I recently caught up with redshirt junior guard Joel Ayayi who was kind enough to offer me his time.
Ayayi was named to the Jerry West award watch list as well as the Naismith award watch list. Last season, he averaged 10.
