On Wake Forest’s 100th and final play from scrimmage, Christian Beal took a handoff and hit a hole on the left side, absorbed a crushing hit a few feet in front of the goal line and surged over the goal line for a 6-yard touchdown run.
“That’s what I’m talking about, baby!” was screamed from the sideline as Beal, the running back who redshirted last season after a standout career for East Forsyth, trotted to the sideline having scored his second touchdown in the Deacons’ second scrimmage of the spring season Thursday afternoon.
The scream was from fellow running back Cade Carney, who was held out as an injury precaution.
