The already-cloudy forecast for the future of NFL kickoffs grew even darker at the league meetings Wednesday, when Green Bay Packers President and Competition Committee member Mark Murphy issued this ultimatum to NFL clubs, with whom the the committee will soon meet:
"If you don't make changes to make it safer, we're going to do away with it," said Murphy, via ESPN's Kevin Seifert. "It's that serious. It is by far the most dangerous play in the game."
The NFL said this week that concussions are five times more likely to occur on kickoffs than other football plays.
