Mickey Loomis: Expectation is that Drew Brees will remain with the Saints

INDIANAPOLIS — The Saints have begun negotiating with Drew Brees and his representatives in Indianapolis at the annual scouting combine.

After the first meeting with the quarterback's representative, Tom Condon, the expectation remains that the two sides will reach an agreement before free agency opens on March 14.

"I think the important thing is Drew wants to be a New Olreans Saint," Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said. "We want him to a New Olreans Saint. So he's going to be a New Orleans Saint. That's what what my expectation is, so we'll see about the timing of that.
