Gonzaga suffered its second straight loss of the season on Monday night at Luger Field, this one coming against the third-ranked Washington Huskies, who rolled to a 3-0 victory.
Despite the end result of the match, the night wasn’t a complete loss for the Zag community. Einar Thorarinsson, the long-tenured predecessor to current head coach Paul Meehan, was honored before the match with an enshrinement ceremony into the GU hall of fame.
Kind words were spoken about Thorarinsson from past players and present coaches on the staff. He was presented with a No. 23 jersey, symbolizing his years of service to the program.
