On Sunday night, Gonzaga University men’s soccer (3-3-1) faced off against CSU Bakersfield (0-7-1) in a rematch of last year’s 1-1 draw at Luger Field. The Zags bounced back from their 6-0 loss to the University of Washington on Tuesday evening, coming away with a 2-0 victory to end their nonconference schedule.
After a spell of sloppy possession from both teams to start the match, the first scoring opportunity came to the Roadrunners in the 11th minute. Junior defender Filip Arras found senior Josh Farrell off a corner kick, and GU goalkeeper Chema Preciado pushed Farrell’s attempt off the left post to keep it 0-0.
