Urban Meyer did it again. He slapped Michigan upside the winged helmet, restored order in the Big Ten East and reminded everyone that five-star talent is still the best trump card in sports.
The Buckeyes also did something else Saturday at The Shoe. They probably extended the Big Ten’s miserable relationship with the College Football Playoff.
Since January 2015, when Meyer upset Alabama and Oregon to win the national championship, the Big Ten hasn’t just been winless in the playoff. The league hasn’t scored a point.
In January 2016, Michigan State lost 38-0 to Alabama. In January ‘17, Ohio State lost 31-0 to Clemson.
