Despite inclement weather delaying its start, Missouri men's golf jumped ahead early Monday in the first round of the Tiger Invitational, shooting 13-under par for the round which was delayed from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. The hot start gave the Tigers a six-stroke lead ahead of Kansas State in its only home tournament of the season.
Senior captain Hayden Buckley torched the course and posted a first-round 65 to finish 7-under par in Round 1 with firm control of the lead. He capped off his dazzling round by holing out an 85-yard approach shot on the 18th hole to close out the day with an eagle.
