Gonzaga University’s women’s basketball team forward Lauren Whittaker earned a slew of weekly WCC and national awards, continuing a stellar start to her first season as a Zag and building on a collection of weekly awards.
On Dec. 22, Whittaker was awarded both WCC Player of the Week and WCC Freshman of the Week honors, her fourth Freshman of the Week award already and first Player of the Week tab. The following day, Whittaker was named the USWBA Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week, becoming the first player in the WCC to take home a national weekly award so far this season.
