GU women’s cross country finishes second, men grab third in WCC Championship

On a rainy Saturday afternoon at The Course Spokane Valley, Gonzaga University’s men’s and women’s cross country teams raced in the WCC Championships, the first race ever hosted at The Course. Logan Hofstee and the No. 26 women’s team captured second place, while the men’s team finished third in the team competition, led by a fourth-place finish from WCC Freshman of the Year Logan Schwartz.

Both races were controlled from start to finish by ranked Washington State teams (Women: No. 22, Men: No. 11), showing off the success of their Kenyan pipeline with freshman phenom Rosemary Longisa headlining the women’s squad while Solomon Kipchoge and Evans Kurui completed a dominant 1-2 performance as WSU swept both team events.
