West Coast Conference soccer is coming to Luger Field, as Gonzaga University’s women’s and men’s soccer teams enter conference play aiming to reverse their fortunes following challenging nonconference slates.
With a difficult start to the season for the women’s team (3-7, 1-1-0 WCC) and a men’s squad (3-4-1, 0-1-0 WCC) looking to move forward after a winless conference campaign in 2024, both of GU’s teams are entering their final WCC seasons with a chip on their shoulder.
GU’s men’s team was ranked last in the WCC’s preseason coaches poll, but interim head coach Chris McGaughey said he thinks his young squad has the potential to pull off a few upsets in conference play.
