Coming off back-to-back conference victories for the first time in four seasons, Gonzaga University’s volleyball team (10-8, 3-4 WCC) took on Saint Mary’s (5-13, 3-4 WCC) in a rivalry match at the Martin Centre on Saturday afternoon, falling in a hard-fought, four-set battle.

Saint Mary’s outside hitter Mya Allen was simply too much for the Zags to handle, as the true freshman racked up a game-high 24 kills, a team-high three aces and nine digs. Tessa Schouten was also a thorn in GU’s side, racking up 11 block assists. For GU, Sjakkie Donkers led with 11 kills and 6 blocks.
