The Gonzaga Women rebounded from their tough loss in Provo and beat up the San Diego Toreros, 86-61, on Saturday afternoon. They improve to 6-1 in conference with three of those wins being by 25 points. BYU came back from a double digit deficit to defeat Portland so the Zags remain a game behind the Cougars.
Chandler Smith led another balanced attack offensively. Smith scored a team-high 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting, her best output since scoring 20 against Stanford. Katie Campbell also got back on track, adding a career-high 17 points and hitting five of her seven threes.
