Former Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson dies at 68

Ted Thompson, the architect behind the Green Bay Packers team that took home victory in Super Bowl XLV, died Wednesday at age 68.

Current Packers coach Matt LaFleur confirmed the news Thursday saying, "his impact is still felt today. I think it's felt all around the league. There's a lot of heavy hearts here today."

In Thompson's 13 seasons as general manager, the Packers compiled 125-82-1 record while winning the NFC North Division six times and reaching the playoffs nine times.

The first draft pick Thompson made was for future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is putting up MVP worthy numbers while leading the Packers back to the NFC Championship game at age 37.
