Falcons open crucial spring practice

With so many new faces on the coaching staff, Bowling Green has opened its most critical spring in the Mike Jinks era.

The Falcons began spring practice on Monday, setting the tone early by practicing outside in near-freezing temperatures.

Bowling Green can't afford to let the weather dictate how valuable this spring is in preparation for the 2018 season. The Falcons opened spring with five new defensive coaches -- replacing the entire staff on that side of the ball for one reason or another.

"It's been kind of a transition period for our program at this point," Jinks said.
