Chicago Bears tab much-needed pass-rush help in former 49ers OLB Aaron Lynch

The Chicago Bears found a pass-rushing reinforcement Thursday, when they agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former San Francisco 49ers OLB Aaron Lynch, according to NFL Network.

Lynch tallied 6 sacks as a fifth-round rookie in 2014 under then-Niners defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound South Florida product improved on that production in 2015, Fangio's first year in Chicago, with 6.5 sacks.

But Lynch was limited to 2.5 combined sacks over the past two seasons, when he served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy to begin 2016 and missed four games with a calf injury before being a healthy scratch for several games late last year.
