Just moments before they hit the court for their Gonzaga University basketball halftime performance, a chant echoes through the Bomb Squad dancers' huddle.
“One, two, three – family.”
For them, those words are more than just a pregame ritual — it's the heartbeat of the team, where each dancer comes from a different background and finds their rhythm, their confidence and their people.
The GU Bomb Squad is a try-out dance club with a focus on hip-hop. It performs at basketball and volleyball games as well as different events on campus like GEL day and freshman orientation.
