Alabama football: Tua back at practice, but Tide protects his injured hand

TUSCALOOSA — Tua Tagovailoa wore a non-contact black jersey during Alabama’s fourth spring practice Tuesday afternoon. So did the other quarterbacks. They always do.

But not all of them are recovering from a broken hand, let alone their throwing one like in Tagovailoa’s case. (A Honolulu TV station has quoted Tagovailoa’s father as saying his son broke a finger, which required surgery.)

“Obviously, he’s got a bad hand,” Tide coach Nick Saban said. “We don’t want anybody to be hitting on his hand, but hopefully in a very short period of time, he’ll be able to get back in there.
