The top four seeds in the WCC Tournament have predictably made it into the semifinals, with an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament on the line.
It was hardly easy for any of the four teams to make it to Monday. Gonzaga needed every extra bit of energy from their front court to push past LMU in the quarterfinals. San Francisco needed overtime to push past Pacific. BYU once again ran into an aggressively difficult San Diego squad, and in the biggest surprise of the evening, the Pepperdine Waves, the worst team by a long shot in the WCC, took it down to the wire against Saint Mary’s.
