Going in to her senior year as a Zag, Laura Stockton continues to pave her own way and make a name for herself despite the mere fact of being a “Stockton.” While she doesn’t mind that everyone has heard of her dad, John Stockton (unless you live under a rock), and she was well aware of the expectations when donning a Gonzaga jersey, she is entirely her own player.
During Laura’s recruiting visit to Gonzaga, head coach Lisa Fortier showed her clips of both John and of Courtney Vandersloot, who was often compared to John Stockton. Fortier noted, “We talked about how she was a different point guard than them, but how she had potential to be just as good.
