BLUFFTON, S.C. – Sarah Grimmer has walked every step of her son Will’s first two rounds at the Players Amateur. Unlike other moms, Grimmer strolls right down the middle of Berkeley Hall’s pristine fairways, manning Will’s push cart.
As Grimmer’s group – among the final five threesomes to tee off in Round 2 – was carted to the scoring tent at the end of a long day in triple-digit heat, Sarah strolled down the cart path toting the clubs. Will signed for a second-round 2-over 73 (two better than his opening 75) and needs a solid third round to make the cut to top 40 and ties.
