Wake Forest edges Duke for Rod Myers Invitational win

It came down to the last hole at the Rod Myers Invitational, and Will Zalatoris came through.

The star sophomore at Wake Forest birdied the 455-yard par-4 18th at The Duke Golf Club to give the Demon Deacons a one-shot victory over the host Blue Devils. No. 22 Wake Forest finished with a 2-under 862 (288-279-295) to No. 41 Duke's 1-under 863 (286-282-295). That final red score also meant the individual title for Zalatoris, the second of his college career, as his 8-under total edged out Duke's Adam Wood by a stroke.

In fact, Zalatoris rolled in a 20-footer to take the lead on the final green, with Wood needing his subsequent 18-footer to force a playoff on two levels.
