Volcanic eruption strands Korda, other LPGA players in Bali

Well, of all places to get stranded, Bali might top the list of most desirable. The LPGA’s Jessica Korda, Beatriz Recari, Azahara Munoz and So Yeon Ryu flew to the Indonesian island Bali for the 2015 Lexus Cup and now find themselves stranded in paradise – specifically at the W Retreat & Spa – after the eruption of Mount Rinjani.

A spokesperson for Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency told The Associated Press that the volcano, on the nearby island of Lombok, spewed ash and debris more than 11,000 feet into the air. The eruption on the 12,224-foot peak began late Tuesday and continued into Wednesday, making conditions unsuitable for flying.
