ORLANDO – After Qass Singh split the fairway with a majestic drive at the ninth hole of the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Nick Faldo turned to his proud papa and said, "Now don't strain yourself, Vijay."
The implication, of course, was why even bother hitting in the two-man scramble format. But the Big Fijian can still swing the heavy lumber with the best of them. "If you can do better, I'll give you a dollar," Faldo said, presumably in jest.
Challenge accepted, as Vijay sent a drive soaring and it was neck and neck with Qass. Like father, like son.
