USA wins crucial UL International Crown on home turf thanks to another comeback

GURNEE, Ill. – It didn’t take long for Team USA to turn the dialogue. After being shut out on Day 1 of the UL International Crown, the Americans shrugged off the “what’s wrong?” question with a terrific comeback at the Merit Club.

All week the Americans tried to downplay any rivalries or “favorite” labels. Anyone can win this thing, Stacy Lewis declared. But that doesn’t change the fact that here in farm country, where the vast majority of sweaty fans cheered for the home team, people expected the U.S. to win. Regardless of how strong the rest of the world becomes, it’s engrained.
