NASSAU, the Bahamas — Scott Vail, who caddies for Brandt Snedeker, walked off the 18th green of the Albany Golf Club, shrugged the bag off his shoulder and said of the 7,302-yard course carved out of the sand, “It’s like walking on the beach in a weighted vest.” But this week’s Hero World Challenge is anything but an ocean stroll spoiled for Joe LaCava, who is thrilled to feel the physical effects of a hard day’s work after Tiger Woods’s back surgeries left him in loopers’ limbo for over a year.
For 466 days, LaCava was neither employed nor unemployed.
