Tiger Woods, bidding to recapture the magic of old, was among the leaders through a round and a half of the Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour.
In Palm Harbor, Fla., Woods started the day on the back nine at minus-1 in eighth place. He birdied Nos. 12 and 13, sinking 6-foot putts on each, then drained a 11-footer on the par-4 second hole.
On the par-5 fifth hole, Woods escaped a green-side bunker to 5 feet, then sank the birdie putt and moved to 5-under, in the lead by himself.
