Tiger accepting Ryder Cup vice captaincy a way of keeping his word

NASSAU, Bahamas — Though he’s not dripping in optimism about his return to golf, neither is Tiger Woods suggesting that his recent addition to U.S. Ryder Cup coaching staff be seen as a signal he is done.

Woods said he accepted Davis Love’s invitation as a way of keeping his word.

“I told Davis when we got into the (task force) ... ‘Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do.’ I meant that and he knows I meant that as a friend and the guy I’ve gone into these teams with since 1997,” Woods said Tuesday from the Hero World Challenge.
