Kyle Thompson won the Web.com Tour's Rex Hospital Open on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff.
Thompson, 36, made a 4-foot birdie putt in the playoff, beating out Patton Kizzire and Miguel Carballo to win the event for the third time in his career (2007, 2011, 2015). He is the first Web.com Tour player to win the same event three times.
“I knew I had to make (the putt) to win,” said Thompson in a release. “I thought: Just go through the same routine that I did 50 times this week. The putt’s the same today as it was Thursday morning.
