Sometimes, all it takes is a good pep talk.
Matthew NeSmith was there during the second round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. After opening and closing well at several events, NeSmith was struggling with the round sandwiched in the middle.
South Carolina head coach Bill McDonald took NeSmith aside and gave him some advice while following his second round at the Hootie.
"He said, 'Let's restart and rethink this. Let's start like you're playing in the first round of the tournament again,' " said NeSmith. "I did and turned it around.
