Taylor survives unlikely 11-year journey to reach winner's circle again, at Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. –– What a difference a week makes.

Vaughn Taylor fired a 7-under 65 in Sunday's final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to win by one shot over Phil Mickelson at Pebble Beach Golf Links, a place where Mickelson has won four times.

Just 10 days earlier, Taylor was on another continent, in an ambulance with an IV in his arm after being forced to withdraw just 13 holes into the Web.com Tour's Club Colombia Championship with either a stomach flu or food poisoning.

Since it was less expensive to make the trip to Pebble Beach rather than fly back home to Augusta, Ga.
