Tait: Fading European Senior Tour sits in deep trouble

New European Tour chief executive Keith Pelley has been like a breath of fresh air since he took up his post last August. Whether he can breathe new life into the European Senior Tour remains to be seen.

This once thriving over 50s circuit is currently on life support. The 2016 schedule makes dire reading for any former European Tour pro hoping to top up his pension.

On this year’s schedule, there are just 10 events – two less than last year. Gone are the ISPS Handa PGA Seniors Championship and the French Riviera Masters, the latest tournaments to jump the sinking ship.
