Storms delay Round 3 at John Deere Classic

SILVIS, Ill. – Play was suspended Saturday at the John Deere Classic at 8:54 a.m. CT because of lightning.

Players returned to the course at 9:51 a.m., but wet weather is expected to continue throughout the day with additional thunderstorms in the area.

The Quad Cities area was hammered with rain earlier this week, as TPC Deere Run took on over three inches of rain on Monday.

The golf course has remained dry although the greens have proven plenty soft. Continued storms throughout the day will only serve to further soften the greens and make a usually gettable golf course even more prone to low scores.
