Royal Liverpool selected to host 2022 Open Championship

Royal Liverpool Golf Club has been chosen as the venue for the 2022 Open Championship.

The course in Hoylake, Wirral has hosted the major championship 12 times, most recently in 2014 when Rory McIlroy won his third major title.

In 2006 Tiger Woods won Open Championship on the same course, lifting the Claret Jug for the third time in his career.

This year's Open Championship will take place at Royal Portrush in Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland.
