Rickie Fowler, other PGA Tour golfers pick best 'go-to' skill in golf

NASSAU, Bahamas — Ah, “Island Time.” The perfect setting for philosophical contemplations, especially early in the week, before the golf starts, even as you stand on the range working on your game.

So there was Matt Kuchar, late on a sultry morning on a practice day at the Hero World Challenge, offering up this: “I used to think think that if I could do one thing great (in golf), it would be putting.” Pause. “But I’m not so sure that’s true anymore.”

Not that he doesn’t want to putt well, mind you. It’s just that if he were given the option of having one part of his game be a “go-to” skill, maybe putting wouldn’t be it.
