IRVING, Texas – Never underestimate the value of a fresh look.
Since the PGA Tour left the West Coast, Brooks Koepka hadn’t posted a top-10 finish at a stroke-play event, the byproduct of a balky putter.
Last week at The Players,Koepka switched to a new version of Nike Golf’s Method putter with better results, opening with rounds of 66-70 before being sidetracked, like many others, by exceedingly difficult conditions on the weekend.
With more manageable greens this week at the AT&T Byron Nelson, Koepka has continued his turnaround with rounds of 65-64 for a share of the early lead with Jordan Spieth.
